Términos de servicio
- Mótu no ofrece consejo médico.
- Podemos cambiar, pausar o descontinuar funciones.

Terms of Service
1. What Mótu is, and who offers it
Mótu is an iPhone and Apple Watch app that records your runs, walks and strength workouts, and draws on a map the parts of your city you have covered. Mótu ("we", "us") operates from Nova Scotia, Canada. Contact: support@mootuapp.com.
By creating an account you accept these terms. If you disagree with any part of them, don't use the app — that is the one condition we set, and we say it plainly.
2. Who may use the app
You must be at least 16 years old. Mótu is not directed at children under that age and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. You need an account with a real email address, or Apple or Google sign-in; you are responsible for keeping your access secure and for what happens under your account.
3. Mótu is not medical advice — and training carries risk
This section matters more than any other. Read it.
- Mótu does not provide medical advice. The numbers the app shows or suggests — loads, reps, volume, body-composition estimates, calories — are informational and derived from what you log. They are not a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or coach.
- Running, long walks and strength training carry inherent risks of injury, property damage and, in extreme cases, death. Consult a health professional before starting or intensifying any exercise program.
- You choose where, when and how hard you train. You voluntarily assume the known and unknown risks of your physical activity. Stay aware of your surroundings: no map is worth more than watching where you cross the street.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release us from liability for injuries, damages or losses arising from your physical activity or your training decisions.
4. Your data is yours
The routes, workouts and measurements you log belong to you. You grant us a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to store and process them for the sole purpose of operating the service (drawing your map, computing your progress, syncing your devices). How we protect them is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Your GPS routes are private by design: neither your friends nor the social features can see them. What the social features do share — name, level, points — is described in the privacy policy.
5. What is not allowed
These rules exist to protect the people who use Mótu. You must not:
- Access or attempt to access another person's data, or probe, scan or circumvent security measures (authentication, per-user isolation, rate limits).
- Use the app or its servers with bots, scrapers or any unauthorized automated access.
- Decompile, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the app, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Impersonate another person or Mótu, create fake accounts, or use the social features to harass, defraud or spam.
- Fake physical activity (for example, simulating GPS routes) to manipulate rankings or leagues.
- Resell, rent or redistribute the service, or use the Mótu brand without written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, with immediate effect where the abuse puts other people or the service at risk. Termination does not erase liability for harm already caused.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its code, its design, the Mótu name and its symbol belong to us. These terms transfer no ownership to you; they grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices.
7. The service is provided "as is"
Mótu is under active development. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the app is error-free, that GPS is accurate, that calculations are perfect, or that the service is always available.
- We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we discontinue the entire service, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to CAD $50 or the amounts you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for data loss caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits rights the law grants you that cannot be waived by contract, including consumer rights in your province or country.
9. Indemnity
If your use of the app violates these terms or the law and that generates third-party claims against us, you agree to indemnify us for the reasonable costs of our defence, including legal fees.
10. Ending your account
You may stop using Mótu and delete your account and data at any time — the process is described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate accounts for violations of these terms (section 5) or where the law requires us to.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a material way, the app will show you the new version and ask you to accept it before continuing. Every acceptance is stored with the date and the document version, so it is always clear which text you agreed to.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia, without prejudice to non-waivable rights granted by the law of your place of residence.
